I am Beautiful inside I carry my Lifegift with Honor. Because I know I have a heart that feels again One day I pray to meet the right Mate

Steven Methot Patricia, I have several physical abnormalities, let's just put it that way. I was born without cartilage in the top part of one of my ears and had to have plastic surgery. My rib cage is quite pronounced, I guess you could say that I am barrel chested. I didn't stop growing when I should have and my legs and arms are out of proportion to my body. When thin I look like a scarecrow. None of that ever ever proved to be an impediment to finding love and by that I don't mean just the physical stuff. I had a very poor self-image, and I thought that my appearance would put anyone off, but to my surprise it never NEVER did, or at least it didn't matter to the people that matter. I have been married to the love of my life for over 30 years and we have two wonderful children. My abnormalities aren't me. Your scar isn't you. You WILL find someone to whom the scar won't matter - you will matter to them.

Don't Give up!!! I was back on the Hospital Floor Working and taking the best care of my patients as I could. Being a patient for almost a week my Restart heart has the insight to better caregiving. I see some are almost ready to have your surgeries be kind to yourself . Do buy 6 six pillows now so you can have the support for your back that pillow roll technique is tough, get a heating pad ready, and Do Follow your protocol! I did not take the pain meds I got off them as soon as possible they made me sick Yuk But do listen to your Body. I used Hot water therapy when i was allowed, and I ate super healthy. Do the walking if I can stress anything Wake up from surgery and tell your nurse you want to walk.. Walk outside enjoy the little things to farhter stronger stronger what a difference this surgery will make Never Give Up!!!
Ana Brusso Encouraging and very positive post Patricia. Thank you 🙏❤️

Rita Savelis So sorry you have to go through this. It is still so very early. Sleeping can be so hard after OHS. I hear you. It gets easier eventually, but there are difficult weeks to get through when you think you won't. It might help to sleep propped up a bit (for your breathing). I normally never take sleep aids, but occasionally I asked for something because my body (and my soul) needed sleep in order to heal. Thanks for sharing exactly how it feels. Putting words on the difficulties can make them better. Take care Patricia.

Mike Tirrell It gets better. Week #1 was awful for me, very little sleep. Once I was able to roll a little bit onto my side it got much better. I have an adjustable bed which helped, also slept a little in my recliner. I also would take my pain medication (tylenol) about 15 minutes before I would go to bed so I could rest as comfortably as possible. Hang in there, it will get better.

Susan Lynn I agree with Tracy! Forget about the clock for awhile. Sleep whenever you need to and find something to do when you wake up during the night. You'll eventually get back to a regular sleep routine, but until then, the short naps will keep you going! Hang in there!
