Today, May 15, is the two year anniversary of my surgical aortic valve replacement. I feel very blessed that after the three month recovery I have totally returned to my normal activities with no restrictions. I continue to walk 3 miles a day, exercise daily, and play a couple of rounds a golf each week.
Many thanks to my great cardiologist in Greensboro, Ga (Dr. Javaheri) and surgical team ( Dr. Morris Brown) at Piedmont Valve center in Atlanta as well as the great post-op team at Piedmont. I couldn’t have received better care.
Thanks also to Adam and all on this great blog site. I found it to be a source of inspiration and encouragement as I faced the surgery and throughout the recovery. This site is making a difference.
For all facing valve replacement, maintain a positive attitude and believe in your care team. You’ll get through it just fine.
