Enjoy your weekend and one extra day, Ken. I'm with Phyllis about the salt. I had my husband bring me salt packets from the cafeteria to make the food palatable. Fortunately, I didn't have problems with fluid retention, or I wouldn't have had him do that... I really wasn't very hungry for most of my stay (5 days) in the hospital though...

Wow, kids, it's obvious I haven't been on here for quite a while. Thank you for the nice well-wishes. I'm about 10 days post-surgery now, and doing pretty well. I'll be posting a new note with details pretty soon. It's just been - if you can believe it or not - busy! As far as the food goes, of course, I didn't have much appetite the first several days, either. By about the third day the appetite started to pick up. I knew things would taste horrible after the anesthesia (it took at least three weeks for things to taste better after the last surgery), but I held off on the salt and continue to do that and have been using Mrs. Dash instead. Not taking any chances here - not sure how many chances I've got left! In the meantime, things are going pretty well - and I hope they are for all of you, too. Happy Easter, or whatever holiday you celebrate!
