from what I can read, and what my Dr. told me, I think 4 weeks after the surgery is a return to normal activities

Jennifer: I had minimally invasive mitral repair surgery and I took 8 weeks off. I also attended cardiac rehab which was very helpful. I went back to work the first week working half days.
I am 19 months post op. My surgery was at St. Luke's. I did rehab there. You can email if you have questions. Autenclare@Gmail. I live in Ballwin.

Jennifer, we all heal at different time. I'm 72 and it took me about 10-12 weeks before I felt I was completely healed, but I was wrong. For me it was about 16 weeks, but you are much younger, just be careful not to do too much too soon. God... Read more.
Every time I think I am healed, something new pops up. I am 5 weeks post op Aortic Valve Replacement and still get new things pop up. Last couple days was discomfort around chest (not pain and not on the incision itself).
