It's just gone 6am across the pond here in London & day of op. Had Hobiscrub shower & now wearing my attractive hospital gown In Readiness for going down to theatre at 8am. Had pre meds & awaiting the supposed sense of calm that should follow 👍 Didn't sleep great due to the various glowing lights in my room & what awaits me today is obviously at the fore. Hubby pooping in at 7am bless him, he's such a rock but clearly this is getting to him. Wish I could spare him the stress of today. From a positive perspective, my next post will be on the other side of the Ross procedure!😎 minus my old Lubb Dubb of a stenotic valve and life can begin again. James Martinez thank you for your wonderfully descriptive journal of life immediate post the Ross procedure. Very helpful and learnt a lot about what to expect which helps demystify things. Feeling a combination of relief that the day is finally here, and anxiety about how I will feel post op. But how great are our surgeons & nursing staff - have a wonderful team with me & very thankful for them. Well guys, I'll check in with you when I can post ICU. Claire, pray, hold on tight, and focus on tomorrow and the next decade(s) of your long life. They do this kind of thing all the time. We are here to cheer you on. You need to be aware that WAITING is the hardest part and you just cheated all of us by jumping the queue. Rock this thing. It happens frequently! ❤️💪. And welcome! This site is a Godsend. Hi Rob, thanks for your kind words of encouragement . I posted in the hope of someone who has 'been there' would cheer me on. It's hard being truthful to loved ones as I don't want to worry them. Yes, the waiting is hard. I just want to get on with my recovery. Thanks for responding 😀

Claire, you will be good. I just had a Ross procedure about 4 and a half weeks ago. Waiting the night before the surgery up until I was wheeled into the operating room was the scariest part of the process for me. I wrote up my hospital experience in my journal. It may help to read about what things you might experience during your stay. Good luck, you will do great!
