Brady Busch I've been taking it since surgery in 2021.A doctor said it was fairly benign, but read also, that it can make people feel tired. After telling a cardiologist that last week, the dose was cut in half, from 50 to 25mg and hopefully, will be more energetic.

Larry Peterson Hi Bernie - I had nausea and headaches with the extended release so switched to 2X daily. Better, but still a bit of nausea and headache. My cardiologist recently switched me to atenolol, because I have had no problems with arrhythmia since my surgery, and I now have no more headache/nausea symptoms. I could have tolerated the metoprolol, but since I had no problems with arrythmia/afib the atenolol works better for blood pressure control.

Betsy Davenport I was prescribed Metoprolol a few years ago to lower my blood pressure, which it did. I have had no problems with it. After my TAVR, they discontinued it and my BP went way up and so did my heart rate. One week after TAVR, I was back in the office to discuss it and they decided to let me resume taking it. Within 36 hours, my BP and heart rate returned to normal and have remained there ever since (5 weeks).

Maggie Ma I took 200 once a day before surgery ( after cardio version on my AFib). Post surgery, I stopped taking it. My cardiologist asked me whether I wanted to take some for protection purpose. I declined. By end of this month, it will be 4 months for me post surgery. My heart rate and blood pressure are fine.

Rita Savelis I took metropolol for a year and didn't like it. It made me feel slow and depressed. So, I kept asking when I could stop it. I felt so good when I did. From one day to the next. Some people have no problem with metropolol but others do. It's the same with all meds. Let your doctor know and keep asking. If you don't mention it, they'll keep you on it. There are other meds you can take if your heart needs to be slowed down.
