my last journal i shared about my diagnosis and the need for surgery and i was going for second check up. i was in confusion mode when the other attending cardio told me we just have to wait on surgery but monitor the sitiation. i was like in the mood to get it over and done with, only to be told lets wait i dont know if i should be happy or sad becoz of postponement the previous cardio told me its time for surgery then this one told me we have to wait and monitor i dont know if any of yu my friends here ever face that ,yu live with the fear that what could go wrong in between the waiting time to make matters worse if it suddenly become urgent for surgery to be carried out whilst am suppose to go to a land far for it in here we dont have such facilities and the organisation which offer to sponsor will it be ready to take me urgent to that country .
my health is not bad i can do most things without problems i dont know how to go about it
hie everyone am a man 36 years old living in southern africa am happy to be on this forum was diagonised with both mitral and aortic stenosis and regurgitaion last few months and my date for surgery is not yes set since am relying on a offer by organisation which help whole of africa with free heart surgery in our local facility we dont have such facility i have rheumatic heart disease ..
my question is the cardiologist said my valve is 1.7cm2 is it now urgent for surgery i have fears just like everyone its overwhelming with not many people to talk to.
i think i will find comfort on this forum am still seeing doctors but they indicated open heart surgery soon .
can rheumatic damaged valves be repaired or the only option is to replace i am glad most of your have great facilities in your respective countries you can able to speak to surgions for more information and questions as for me i dont have i have only managed to speak to cardiologist..
