About Me

I went to see my Dr in June for what I thought was asthma, I have check ups every 6 months, my Dr heard a heart murmur and sent me off for tests on my heart, after having a halter monitor on and the heart ultrasound the diagnosis was made, a few days later I was having my first appointment with a cardiologist and that's where I was told I have severe aortic stenosis after that everything stopped, I am currently waiting to get a surgery date. Some days are hard as I struggle with fatigue and all the symptoms that I get every day, I am a single parent and my son has autism and the only question he wanted to ask the surgeon was if they could take a photo of my heart for him, an unusual request but they will do that for him. Over the last few months I have watched many video on what to expect and even surgery videos, it's making easy to understand what is about to happen to my body On 31 May I had my heart surgery and got a 25mm St Jude master and had a reduction ascending aortoplasty done with no complications. I feel very lucky to now be on the recovery side of this journey with my ticking noticeably which I love and a very beautiful scar
