About Me

My heart condition was first discovered last December "by chance" following an abdominal CT scan for another issue (the scan went higher up than normal). I have been to the Frankel Cardiovascular Center at U of M for tests and consults 4 times this year where they confirmed that I have a bicusped aortic valve, a 57 mm aortic root aneurysm, and a bovine arch. My aortic valve will be replaced and my aortic artery will be replaced from the new valve to about mid-arch. Update June 9, 2018: My heart surgery was scheduled for June 11, 2018, but it was postponed to a TBD date. Update June 13, 2018: My heart surgery is rescheduled for July 2.
