I've been on a much more healthful diet since last November; it's the one thing I feel I can do during this "waiting period" that might help with the surgery and post op.

Jackie Owens Glad to see your progress. I have my fourth heart surgery in a month at UCLA and the surgeon told me since I am a conditioned/extreme athlete I will be going home sooner than most and able to recover faster. Doing lots of sit-ups, core work and leg presses. (what I can do without getting my heart rate up too fast). Thanks for the inspiration.
