Just a 3 mile walk on the beach at Pt. Defiance with salmon fishing derby in the background. 4 weeks post op and healing well.

3 weeks & 4 days post surgery from AVR. All vitals are great and my new valve is working perfect, thanks to the surgeon team with Dr. Aldea at UW Medical in Seattle, WA. I attribute most of my rehab success to a strict pre-hab program of healthy nutrition

I attribute most of my re-hab success to strict pre-hab program of moderate exercise, healthy nutrition, my faith that God will give me one day at a time and my wife and daughter making my homecoming so comfortable. Walking 2 miles/day now.

I'm glad they use glue now instead of stitches. Don't you love the look you get when people ask about that? Zipper's looking good. Happy healing.

Way to go Steve!!! Great Smiling Scar Selfie. I was glued as well. Take it nice and easy as you are still early on in your recovery. Like you, I'm a BIGGG believer in nutrition.

Yes, that scar sure does NOT look like it's only 3 weeks old. Can you opt for glue over stitches? Glad you feel nutrition is helping. I've been on a much more healthful diet since last November; it's the one thing I feel I can do during this "waiting period"... Read more.

Glad to see your progress. I have my fourth heart surgery in a month at UCLA and the surgeon told me since I am a conditioned/extreme athlete I will be going home sooner than most and able to recover faster. Doing lots of sit-ups, core work and leg presses. (what... Read more.

DAY 16 POST AVR. My grandson Marcus showing me how to cook smores. For those of you waiting and just going through surgery, it gets a little better every day. Have a plan to walk every day and follow through works every time.
