Robert Bach Hello heart warriors,

Tuesday was my one-year valve-versary. I had my echo and checkup with my cardiologist a couple of weeks ago, and everything is okay. To all of you facing surgery, keep the faith! Chances are you'll be back to normal, maybe even better than what you thought was "normal," within a few months after your operation. You might even find yourself taking up a new sport such as, oh, I don't know... weightlifting?

Robert Bach Greetings heart warriors. I completed cardiac rehab phase 2 on Monday -- 36 sessions in 12 weeks. It helped a lot. My chest still feels a little tender, but otherwise I feel pretty much back to normal. In some ways I feel better now than before surgery. I thought the fatigue and pounding heart were just signs of aging. Yesterday I bounded up three flights of stairs to catch a train, two steps at a time, and I wasn't out of breath. I have confidence in my body again. I highly recommend cardiac rehab.
