Sharing pic of incision, 17 days after surgery, minimally invasive mitral valve repair. It doesn't hurt and most of the sensitivity around it has gone away as well. So glad I found a great surgeon nearby that did the side entry approach.

Oh my... I just realized that I'm going to go through heck whenever I have my surgery... I'm allergic to the adhesive on medical tape and I am sure that the "paper" tape that works for me won't be strong enough for what they want to do. That medical adhesive... Read more.

I am also allergic to those adhesive. By the time I got home they were huge red rectangles and stripes all over the place. But if that's the worst of your problems at that point, you win!

I would imagine that they can use the 'paper' tape, even if they have to change it more often. It was just holding on a bunch of gauze and I think I had a lot of it because my chest tube leaked some so they have to add some extra... Read more.

Thomas... I'm also a hairy guy. I'm going to itch for weeks from the shaving and the adhesive. But as you say, that's a small price to pay.
