Eleven years ago I went to my doctor for a sinus infection and he heard a heart murmur. I was diagnosed with a mitral valve prolapse at that time. I felt fine and had no complications. One year ago I went back for a well check, when my Doctor heard a change in my heart. After further tests, I was diagnosed with regurgitation. Now, in one week, I will be having my surgery for a mitral valve repair.
