Hey Karin, Welcome to the "other" side! My goodness. Your incision is teenie-tiny. How are you feeling?

It sure is. And my surgeon did an aortic valve replacement and aortic root enlargement through there. Pretty cool.

Everybody heals differently but I also had a mini-sternotomy for my AVR. I had a pretty big lump at the top of the incision but over time, the whole thing flattened right out (just like the Dr. said it would). You can still see my scar but its not very... Read more.

Pretty soon they will be able to do heart surgery from outside the body. No? Well, I thought I read that somewhere. ;) Karin, your incision is so small it is easy to imagine scarless open heart surgery! Get walking!
