Nice work, Erik. That's a good average heart rate, too! Pretty "chill" (as my daughters would say) : - )

Going home is such a big step, Erik. Congrats! Coincidentally, one of my favorite nurses at the Austin Heart Hospital was a Sean too. Hope the flight went well.
God Bless the nurses!!
Erik - You look fabulous! You and your family will probably be happy to get home. You'll see your recovery accelerate once you're in comfortable surroundings! Safe travels!
Awesome Erik. Safe travels glad to see you are on your way home. That room looks very familiar as I got to enjoy it there for 16 days!

Hi friends. My surgery went great on Wednesday and the doctors and nurses are pleased with my progress. I left the ICU around mid day today. Dr. Pochettino ended up doing the aortic root replacement as planned and he also replaced my ascending aorta and c

And continued on to do a hemi-arch replacing the underside of the arch. He put in a size 27 ON-X mechanical valve and a continuous Dacron sleeve right up through the hemi-arch. Feeling pretty beat up right now but hoping the chest tubes come out tomorrow.
Bravo!!
Good to hear you're doing well. It's all downhill after chest tubes come out. Makes it a lot easier to breathe. Welcome to the on-x club!
Congratulations on being the other side of your op, as stated above, it only gets better from here on. Slow & steady for the next few weeks and wish you a full & good recovery.
Awesome, Erik. I remember how you are feeling now. You are doing great! I had almost the exact same thing done, only I had a bio-valve installed. It is a basic "Bentall" procedure. It gets better! Trust me. :-) Keep plugging away and you'll be home before you know it.... Read more.
Looking great, Erik! Welcome to recovery! You did it! ❤
Congratulations! Glad to hear from you!
Each day from here gets a little bit easier, and any day where they remove a tube or unhook a machine is a good day indeed.
You look wonderful! Congrats & best recovery wishes!
Excellent news!!!!!!!
Great News!!
Great news Erik! Sending you healing thoughts. Everyday foward will get alittle bit better and easier. Continue to walk and rest as much as you can. You had a great surgeon and team, welcome to recovery! 💪
Prayers for your healing!
Welcome to recovery, Erik!
Each day gets better and better. You'll feel a world of difference after the removal of the chest tubes.
Thanks everyone! I've been stuck in AFib for the past 24 hours and if doesn't go back into sinus rhythm soon they'll do a 'cardio version' procedure. Either way hoping to clear this hurdle soon.
I had Afib too which kept me in the hospital a day longer than planned. They put me on something called pacerdone (sp?) and a blood thinner. They said if it continues they would a cardio version.
