Send Marilyn a NoteAbout Me
Surprise! 2011 (at Weill Cornell, Dr. Leonard Girardi) bicuspid valve congenital defect stenosis (1.0); had bovine 23cm valve replacement; went my merry way; thought I had 15-20 years for that valve!
Surprise 5/15/19 I had to have that severely stenosis (.67) valve replaced (now known at that small size for premature overgrowth)! Lucky me! Plus aortic pseudo anneuryism patch (from nick at 2011 SAVR) and mitral repair, and then damage to my AV node from such extensive surgery, surprise again, now I have a pacemaker. Not happy about mitral repair causing AV node damage (heart block), and now w/pace maker. But new surgeon Dr. Matthew Williams at NYU Langone, despite all these new parts, did a great job, and I am in line for his TARV 10-15 (hopefully longer) years down the line.
EF at only 40% (from ideal of 55%+) , due to mitral valve repair, had my HR high (80s/90s), instead of normal (70s), making the coefficient too disparate which makes me feel off/weird and unable to really feel rested. Looking to bring EF back to normal as soon as possible, but can take months. Testosterone cream may help, rebuilding heart muscle. Am exploring this w/my cardiologist, next week. Anyone else have low EF and rebuilt heart muscle w/testosterone cream?
