Hello JC and your Wife! You don't have long to wait now for the surgery that will get you heart healthy and able to continue on with your life with it fully mended! I can't imagine living in a place like Africa since it seems from what I have read or seen on film or tv to be one of those dream places one would want to live on this beautiful planet of ours. It must be difficult being away from it although I am not certain how long you have been living or working there? I see you are from Oregon. I am nearby in California. I hope while you are "back home"? you are enjoying yourselves while you have to wait out the days until your surgery. I hope by the 10th. you will be absolutely confident in your surgical Team, location and ready! I had my bicuspid aortic valve replaced last year at this time(Aug. 20th) and it is with a Bovine Tissue Valve. Surgery went quicker than I imagined and the recovery has been a totally interesting adventure. You will find things about yourself you never knew. Like a new healthy respect for your patience level! How strong you are. How nice it is to be taken care of by people who care about you because you are Special! So my wish for you is that all goes well and that you enter into your day peacefully and as calm as possible. I hope the surgery is smooth and your recovery all that you would want it to be. Take care and on the "day" I will be sending Universal good thoughts and a prayer!
