Friday Fun: Blue Jean Diapers… Really?
September 3rd, 2010Every once in a while I see a product that makes me think, “Huh?”, “What?”, “No way!”, “Can’t be!” and “Really?” The last time I had that thought was when the marketeers at Chia America released… Chia Obama.

Today, I find myself thinking, “Huh?”, “What?”, “No way!”, “Can’t be!” and “Really?!” once again.
Those thoughts triggered when my next door neighbor came strolling down the street with her 6-month old baby boy. As Robyn (my wife), Ethan (my 16-month old boy) and I chatted with my neighbor, something caught my eye in the stroller. My focus tightened. Then, I realized the little tike was dressed in… Blue Jean Diapers!
After discussing this with Robyn, I learned that Huggies has an entire marketing program built around this new, chic line of “pee-pee” and “pooh-pooh” protection. In case you missed it, here is the flagship commercial for blue jean diapers that stimulated my thoughts of “Huh?”, “What?”, “No Way!”, “Can’t Be!” and “Really?”
As I replayed the video, I became further amused by the script. Here it is:
My diaper is full
Full of chic
When it’s a number two
I look like number one
I pooh in blue
Seriously… Did you catch the last line? “I pooh in blue”.
Interestingly enough, Chia Obama and Huggies’ Blue Jean Diapers are both limited items. Hmmmm. Now, why might that be?
Have a great long weekend,
