Thank you! This was a pre-surgical pose. I used back bends to open my chest before surgery and forward bends to heal on the other side. Yoga also helped with post-surgical pleural effusion. At almost 4 months post surgery, I have been able to do inversions and some backbends, but... Read more.

Surgery for my MV repair at Northwestern with Dr. McCarthy is in one month. Just want to thank Adam and all of you for teaching me through your stories. This community has been a vital resource!

I will be having surgery with Dr. McCarthy on May 31st. Mitral valve repair and maze surgery.
