I am having valve replacement surgery on Sept 28. I struggled for quite some time about he mechanical vs bovine, mostly because my surgeon had recommended the mechanical and I wanted "to please " him. Then I decided to get a second opinion and Oh my gosh I quickly made the decision to change doctors and to go with the bovine valve. What a relief to make that decision. I have not looked back.

NIEVES VELAZQUEZ I knew I did not want to take a blood thinner for the rest of my life. I am a little paranoid and the sound of the mechanical heart beat would have driven me crazy. I AM SO GLAD I WENT WITH THE BOVINE, me and the mad cow will live happily ever after. I am glad you guys did the same, good move!

Steven A Husted yes i had to make the same choice and i chose a bovine tissue and i am very glad i did i am one year out i am 67 and if i ever do need a second ohs this time i will not be afraid of it because it was really not that bad and the next time may not be open heart it might be thru the artery
