About Me

I was diagnosed in Nov. 2012 with Bicucuspid Aortic Valve Stenosis. Symptoms being short of breath walking and carrying things. Dr. said I would need aortic replacement in 2 to 5 years. Had another echo cardiogram in June and followup with heart cath last Monday. (9-22-14) Dr. advised I need surgery before end of year. So, only 2 years and now it's time. I have researched and feel that a bovine valve would be what I want, but my surgeon of choice feels for my age (57) a mechanical would be better. This website has been sooooo helpful. Connecting with others with the same diagnosis is priceless! Thank you Adam
