Recovering from 2 ohs aortic valve replacement. Doing fine. Needed pacemaker after surgery. Not unusual in second surgery. Larger valve used to replace valve Remo ved

Hi Marie, Physically about the same. Mentally much better. You understand you will be okay. You know you will experience discomfort. You will have some days where you are a bit down. This is all normal. You know you'll plow ahead. I'm 5 weeks post op, doing great.

Getting ready for my surgery June 1. This will be the second AVR for me. No complaints, it has been 15 years since my first surgery. Will be doing open geart procedure . Looking forward to goo

Thanks. I'm 5 weeks post op. I'm doing great. Grace, you will be fine. These new valves are even better than 15 years ago.

14 years post avr with biological valve. Past several months have become winded while walking , fatigue and episodes of lightheadedness. Will see my Dr. in 2 weeks. What are the chances of a tavar for second replacement surgery ?

Hi Maureen. Wow. Fourteen years is pretty good, I'd say. To answer your question, my aunt, in 2002 had a bio valve done via SAVR. Hers lasted about 13 years and she had a TAVR and was the first in her county to be a "younger" and "healthy" person get... Read more.
