Hi Maureen
I am a member of this heart valve group. I had my first open heart surgery in 2015...9 years ago. I had a bovine valve put in and have led a very active life. Now it looks like my valve is deteriorating and we are watching it. I see my cardiologist in a year to check on everything or sooner if any symptoms. I read with interest your message because I am 71 and am a little anxious on this second surgery. So if you have any tips for me you can message me or I can chat with you on the phone... I live in Exeter NH and had my surgery at Brigham and Woman's Hospital in Boston Ma. Thank you so much for your support. This community is really great and helped me the first time too. Oh I cannot do the TAVR method because my arteries are apparently too small for the valve to pass through. Little disappointed but can't change that. Hope to hear from you! Mary Anne Jardis
