My husband is 6 weeks post op from mitral valve replacement. He is now experiencing A Flutter. How common is this and will it end? He's been taken off his bp med and Verapamil. ( just back on today after seeing the doc). Also has
Been on 2 rounds of prednisone for the gout. Any help will be greatly appreciated.
We went for my husband's 2 week post op check up and he has been discharged!!!! Thank you to Dr Raymond Singer for his wonderful skill and the staff at LVHN for excellent care. My husband 's only complaint is his sense of taste is gone. Hopefully that gets better soon!!
What a difference 2 weeks make. My husband is doing very well so far. Due to the snow he's walking in the house, but is doing 2 18 min walks and tries to add a minute to each walk every day. We see the surgeon on Friday for a 2 week check up and he starts cardiac rehab next week. Hopefully, we continue to improve daily. Thank y'all for your support and words of encouragement!!! This site is truly a God send. It's so comforting to see your not alone in this!!!
Well my husband's surgery is 12 days away and my emotional state is through the roof. I think I need to stop "researching " info. I was feeling pretty good until I'm seeing that mitral valve replacement has a somewhat higher rate of complications or death than mitral repair.
Hi ! I'm writing this journal for my husband Tom. He's having mitral valve replacement surgery on March 1 at Lehigh Valley hospital. Thankfully he feels well but has developed some A fib and its postponed his testing.
He is very positive about this upcoming surgery. I wish I had his attitude - I'm a total wreck. Reading so many testimonies here is very encouraging.
