Just got back from UAB for my PRE-OP screening. That hospital is a well oiled machine. From the time I parked and went through the process including being drained of blood, uninalysis, EKG, chest xray, financial copays with counselor, anesthesiologist interview and medical history and preadmission paperwork. ... I was back in my truck within 90 minutes. BAM! Hopefully when I get there for surgery Monday, everything will be that smooth.

It was 5 weeks ago that I learned via TEE and cath that I would need surgery to repair aneurysm and BAV. The following week I met my surgeon, Jamie Davies at UAB in Birmingham. The surgery was set for December 12, 2014. I remember thinking at the time that was to long to wait. My concern was surviving until surgery with a 6.5 cm aneurysm. FAST FORWARD 3 WEEKS..... I have learned alot over the preceding days. The time seems to have flown by as I kept busy while still managing to follow the doctors orders. Next Friday will be here in a flash. I am excited and nervous at the same time. Gonna have to get me a tatoo with a zippered heart with Mine Ticks after this is done! Thoughts and prayers going out to you all as we move forward on this journey. Keep on tickin!
