5 weeks post op today. Started cardiac rehab today and am so glad I did. Went for my post op appointment and everything looks great. Chest X-ray and echo done. No leaking noted . Everything looks good. Thanks for this group s support. You all are amazing.

Thank you all. @Kim the hospital is amazing with wonderful nurses and doctors. You will love it. The recovery was fast for me . The first two weeks were hard for me but there after it's been pretty good. Wishing you all the best

Yesterday was one of those days. Had labored breathing and in pain.I think I overdid it trying to help my son finish up his project which was due. Spent most of my day in bed. Just walked around the house and took my pain meds. Hoping to get up and... Read more.

It is tempting to feel good one day and then do too much. For recovering from heart surgery , the slow way is best.. Hope you have a good day tomorrow!

110% agree with Marie. Take small steps forward for a few weeks at least. Get in touch with cardio rehab to let them establish a custom program for you.

I had one of those days as I was recovering. Did too much one day and paid a price for it the next. Take it easy.

My surgery was a success. The surgeon was able to repair the valve . I developed some fluids to my right lungs and was not able to breathe without oxygen so Friday they did thoracentesis to pull out the fluids and by Sarturday I could breathe on my on. Spent... Read more.

Great update Becky, very glad to hear!.....we have several Dallas area Baylor Heart Hospital alumni now! Every day will get better....5 weeks post op I feel great. Make sure you do the Cardio rehab...I was skeptical.. But very glad I did.

Typically Yes, but always call and confirm with both the provider that they are 'in network' and with your insurance(copay or co-insurance applicable?). In my case with heart tests, surgery, hospital, etc.....I am WAY past my annual out of pocket max, so all paid for by insurance(which once your bills... Read more.
