Just got discharged last Thurs, after mitral valve replacement with medtronic mech valve. Last INR is 1.14. Im currently taking 2.5mg coumadin. Any advised to make it to 2.5-3.5 range. I worry that I might clot before my ff up appointment next week. Or is it just normal to have... Read more.

Angelica - It's advisable to eat the diet you can live with, and let your medical team calibrate your dosage. Your doctor may have some ideas in the interim, but you will want to keep your diet pretty steady once you get in the range. I was surprised how sensitive... Read more.

I personally do not have experience with Coumadin, but I know it can be difficult at first to get a therapeutic level.. I would ask the doc if you have any questions on what to do.

It can take some time to get yr INR numbers up. But meds are increased very slowly. At some point you'll reach your target but it may take time and INR will always go up and down even when you find your optimal dose. This is okay. Do not worry... Read more.

Sitting with my daugther's favorite cuddle toy "cathy". Post op Day 4. No more contraptions just a heplock and a jp drain. Possible discharge on Thursday. Doctor said ambulate ambulate ambulate!!! Thank God its all done! ✝️😁🙏 Hoping for the best

Btw, its mitral valve replacement with medtronic mech valve. They tried to repair it but it wont hold due to calcified leaflets. Anyway, I will still take it! Im alive! 😁

Surgery was moved from 6am to 1pm tom. More waiting but feels great, it only means my prayer warriors will be able to pray the Divine Mercy 3pm Prayer during surgery. Pls pray for me. Salamat po (Thank You) God Bless🙏

Angelica hope you don't get bumped again. I will make sure to pray for you. Once you get through the surgery things get better. I had a ton of bumps after surgery but things are better everyday.
