About Me

My bicuspid aortic valve was discovered in 2003 during a pre-retirement physical exam at Walter Reed Army Medical Center. After retiring from the Army, my husband and I moved to Ohio, and my heart health has been monitored by Cleveland Clinic cardiologists. In October 2018, the echo showed that the stenosis/calcification had progressed to severe, and the cardiologist recommended AVR. I am blessed that, aside from a few moments of lightheadedness, I have had few symptoms, and I am ready to get this surgery over with and get onto the road to recovery!
