Diagnosed just over a month ago. Had no idea the mitral valve was even narrowed or calcified. I had been under care of a Cardiologist for years. Now surgeon says I will most likely need the valve replaced.
I will have a TEE and a heart Cath in a week and a half to get a better look at the valve and and my coronaries. Then I am thinking we will schedule the valve replacement surgery. This is one of the scariest things I have ever faced. I am 62 years old and newly remarried.....2 years ago.......and have so many plans to travel, etc. with my new husband.
