MVP identified over 25 years ago (1986), passsed all the stress tests, remained super fit until 2011 when regurgitation became severe, left ventrical enlarged and persistent Afib started. Worked my way through 4 consultants until meeting Mr Frank Wells at Papworth Hospital in Cambridge, UK, an incredible surgeon with thousands of successful valve repairs under his belt. He and his team successfully completed my Complex Mitral Valve repair surgery on Friday 13th July 2012, I am now an ex regurgitator, zipper and zapper club member and currently out of Afib following DC Cardioversion on 1st October 2012 when I joined the zapper club... Long may it last.
