2023 I was diagnosed with Mitral valve prolapse about 40 years ago. It was monitored with echos. Recently it suddenly got worse - severe regurgitation, plus ruptured chordae, weakened tricuspid valve, and they also found a hole in my heart that I hadn't ever heard about before. Surgery next week to repair all of above!
2024 Update: I have severe mitral valve regurgitation again. Going to Cleveland Clinic for re-repair June 19th.
