My mitral valve regurgitation was discovered during routine exam 11/14. Upon having an echocardiogram in August, 2017, my cardiologist determined I would likely need surgery and to follow up in 6 months. At that point it was determined I should have the mitral valve repair as soon as possible. I did my due diligence and decided that St. Joseph Hospital (a top-50 U.S. Hospital and top cardiothoracic/mitral valve surgery institute) with Dr. Kevin Miller would be my best bet. A former professional flutist & teacher, I now have a business rehabbing homes in the Denver Metro area. I'm an active 56-year old who lives at 8700' in the Rocky Mountains above Denver - hiking, skiing, yoga are some of my favorite activities. I am ready to get in there, get it done, and start my healing!
