About Me

I have a bicuspid valve and a dilated aorta. I have had an echo every year for about the last 7 years. I was told in 2/2000 that it was now severe aortic stenosis and was referred to the heart team. I am 59 years old. We decided because of my age that I should have open heart surgery with a mechanical valve instead of TAVR. I am scheduled for surgery on 4/1/2020. I am concerned about having surgery with COVID 19 going around.
