This is my second AVR. My first AVR ( a tissue valve) began leaking right before the third anniversary of my surgery in May, 2012. The first surgery replaced my native bicuspid valve which had become stenotic. The tissue valve I now have is leaking and becoming stenotic. The situation is also causing my aorta to become enlarged. So I am on my way to Cleveland Clinic ( from Philly) to have the surgery on March 7th. I am apprehensive ( this second surgery is more complicated and longer than the first one); however, I have great confidence in the surgical staff at CC.
