About Me

I am 57 years old in good health who has been relatively active all my life. According to the surgeon, he believes I had a spontaneous event with the cords to my MV breaking loose. Not a fun moment. Heading to surgery--looking for the best way...Minimally invasive or open heart? I feel fortunate that this can be fixed and very much encouraged by various posts and journeys. Of course, I am scared and have met with Dr. Ackers at U Penn, who does the surgery with a sternal incision. I am hoping after my upcoming cardiac cath that I am a good candidate for minimally invasive. I will be meeting with Dr. Hargrove from U Penn who is well regarded concerning robotic repair. Thanks for the support out there!! Any info or advise would be welcomed!
