Send Bruce a GuestbookAbout Me
I was diagnosed with a bicuspid valve with calcification, stenosis, and an aortic aneurysm on December 13, 2018. On December 20, 2018 I had OHS using the Bentall procedure with the On-X valve replacement. I had some complications during the surgery but everything is okay now. I've been able to recover very quickly since I was in decent shape before the operation. It's been 60 days since my operation and have no real pain or at a level 2 if I do. I've been off pain-killers for about 3 weeks and was only taking 3 pills aday. So, at 60 days I'm walking around 3 miles every other day in 50 minutes. My goal is to run a 10K July 4th so I'm pushing it I suppose. I also do restorative yoga, use a stationary bike and minimum weight training exercises with 5 lbs. weights. I'm eating well with a full appetite. I'm bored and can't wait to get back to work. So, things are looking up and the recovery is going better than I initially expected.
