Richard Goldstein Day 2 back home. Another decent nights sleep, albeit in the recliner,, but I was comfortable. My daughter Katie is taking care of me. She’s fixing my meals, 3 times a day, and watching closely what I eat. She’s an angel. Walking as much as I can. Today will be outside for some sun. Being diligent with breathing exercises. They are coming along slowly but surely. I cough up some mucus but get it out of body asap!

I hope all my Warrior brothers and sisters are recovering as well. Let me know how your recovery is coming along. We can compare notes. Love to all!

John Lant Don't look so worried Richard everything will go ok. I had my Aortic Valve Replaced, Mytril Valve Repaired and a Double Bypass surgery completed on June 25th 2018 and I feel great today. The recovery time was much better than expected and by the 4th week I was walking a good mile plus a day. Just stay focused and everything will turn out great... good luck on your upcoming surgery.

Kathy Hall I had an aortic valve replaced on May 29 which was a Wednesday and came home the following Sunday. I was shocked at how easy it was. I had no pain and was up moving all around the hospital icu floor. You will do great.

Meredith Bray What questions do you have about recovery? I wasn't in nearly as much pain as I had imagined I would be. You'll likely be home in less than a week, sleeping in your own bed, using your own shower, and walking a little more every day. It'll just be slow and exhausting for a few weeks.

As far as pain goes, I would call it being more uncomfortable than in pain. Tylenol was my main pain reliever, though I sometimes took a narcotic pain pill at night to sleep more. What concerns you the most?

Richard Goldstein I’ve been dealing with aortic stenosis for over 3 years now. The time has finally come. I go in tomorrow to French Hospital in San Luis Obispo for my pre operation angiogram. I’ve had one before but now they go thru the wrist instead of the femoral artery. Then I’ll talk to the surgeon. I’m not scared, I think, but I’ve been putting my affairs in order. That’s sad enough. This is not a happy face but I promise to provide much happier pics in the future. Love and white light to all of you.

Frank DeGrazia Richard, my motto has been "Prepare for the Worst, But expect the Best". At day 13 I am thrilled to say that it was better than I expected, but I was glad I prepared for it. I gave me great peace of mind going into the procedure feeling I had done everything I could. Now it was up to professionals. . Target your thoughts past the procedure . Set small goals for yourself , and build on them daily. I will be excited to hear your updates!
