This was my first post op day. The smile may have been influenced by some dilaudid. The surgery went well Dr Doolhab was able to get things done via a 3 inch incision in my upper chest wall. The most uncomfortable thing was the chest tube . Man that hurt.

The dance goes this way: first, you count the days, then weeks, months and finally years. One day you will wake-up and realize you feel better than you have in years! (Usually takes months to get to this point, not years:). Godspeed on a best ever miracle making journey!

Meredith Bray Oh man, I stood in front of the mirror the night before my surgery and I was immobilized. Frozen. Struck. Couldn't talk, barely breathing. I was so scared. So thankful my imagination was worse than reality, the surgery and recovery wasn't easy, but it wasn't as awful as I thought it would be. Keep breathing and keep walking, hold your head up while you walk!

Please continue to tell us about your journey and know we are here to support you and maybe answer any questions you may have. September 8 is a great day, is one of my brother’s birthday.
