Craig Gay Day 2, bowels kicked in tonight!!! Last night he was awake most of the night, not knowing where he was. Confused and crazy dreams. Three more infusions with the last one being Wednesday morning after his 6:30 am MRI of his brain. Taper of prednisone to follow infusions. I nap when ever I get a chance to. Thanks for all of the thoughts and prayers. Yvonne

Craig Gay The plan is to stay in hospital until the 27th to finish the IV antibiotics and then discharge to a rehab facility until he is strong enough to walk. We are praying between now and the 27th his strength comes back so we can get him home!!!

Two weeks ago today, Craig had his aortic valve replaced using the parasternal approach. He's healing very nicely.

Craig Gay He definitely is not without pain however,not having to cut through his sternum was a blessing. His groin still bothers him a bit too and has a hard knot about 2 inches around. Saw his PCP yesterday and she wasn't concerned about it and said it will go down. Yvonne

Craig Gay Thanks everybody! Bentley is a 10 year old labradoodle. It was quite the reunion last night, almost like those videos of service men coming home :0) It's amazing how Bentley (who normally jumps with joy and thinks he's a lap dog) knew that his daddy is fragile.

Craig Gay The trip home was uneventful, I drove slow and we only live 25 minutes from the hospital. I cathed him right before we left the hospital so we got him right into bed as soon as we got home. Just getting his street clothes on exhausted him. He slept 4 hours.

Craig Gay Thank you Catie! Yes, huge relief! Oxygen was 79 again after his walk this afternoon. If it falls to 88 or below next week when respiratory therapy walks him, he'll go home with oxygen for activities and emergency situations.
