This is my 3 yr old peanut! I have a question/concern...while she loves to shower me with kisses and hugs, she has a tendency to run up and attack me! Any ideas on how to protect my sternum? Is there a protective device people wear while healing?

All i can think of is change your heart pillow for a memory foam firm pillow , this is what i did for the first little while , it just helped with the coughing , it gave me something i could hold tighter and it was like body armor when... Read more.

Amy, I bought a toddler size pillow at Bed, Bath, and Beyond. It is smaller than the heart pillow, which is a little big if you are a small person (maybe 12" x 16 "). I also bought some pretty envelope style pillow cases online and they stay in place.... Read more.

Awesome feedback! I'm on it to find both:) This has been one of my biggest fears...the aftermath of the surgery and how to move around.

Dogs, cats and small children don't seem to care that we've had OHS. At 3 years old she'll figure out pretty quickly that mom hurts. Dogs, on the other hand..........

Last bit of snuggles before I have to keep her at arms length for a while....I love my peanut!
