Hey Tom! Saying a prayer for you for tomorrow's procedure. I watched the video on the Trifecta valve and that looks like a really good choice. I am 55 and went bio-mechanical as well. Couldn't see the life-long blood thinners with what I still want to be able to do. I may need the TAVR a little before you but I am banking on continued improvements with the TAVR valves. By the time we need it, there's no telling how good they will be! :-) Update when you can and know we are all with you!

My hubby was high risk due to sepsis that destroyed his mitial titanium ring from 2000. Dr. George is awesome and did mechanical valve replacement as well as cleaning up the diseased tissue from the sepsis. Dr. George is the most skilled and gracious cardiac surgeon! He did the TAVR on my husband which we were grateful. The hospital is wonderful to the patients. We recommend Dr. George and the hospital ALL the time. We live four hours from Plano, Texas. We had never heard of this man nor hospital. God blessed us tremendously! My husband's surgery was 03/28/2019. God Bless!

I wasn't satisfied with the answers and choises the best local surgeon provided me with. I made a decision to travel to the best surgeon I could get to. I used this web site to choose a surgeon with ridiculous numbers of procedures performed (specializing in my area of need). I read all of his comments. I called and made an appointment for a second opinion. I hopped on a plane and flew from Kansas City to Chicago for a whole day of tests. The surgeon I chose gave me the answers I was looking for. I scheduled the surgery that day. A month later my wife and I flew back to Chicago for a successful surgery on Nov 22, 2017. With today's transportation you can hop a plane or get on a train and go anywhere. Do not regret your decisions. Be comfortable with your choices. You will know when your questions are answered to your satisfaction. You are in control.
