Stephen, I had an intestinal bleed that lead to a blood infection after my first AVR surgery. Myocarditis set in and caused the new valve to disintegrate . Pieces of the valve traveled through my blood stream causing arteries in the back of my brain to burst and other pieces... Read more.

Thanks..glad you are alive as well. Sepsis is a dangerous thing..people lose limbs ..sight , as you say. It can kill quickly. I had a Pic line for months

Hi Stephen Dam what a story. Puss from your heart, damm.... that scary. Where did the septis come from. Your heart valve? What valve did you get, bio or Mechanical? Hope to hear from you soon. Thanks for your service.

Jason, Any infection can become septic...I don't know where I got the infection. I suspected I had a kidney infection as I had one before. I had a bio (tissue) valve. I also had to have repairs to the heart as the infection did alot of damage. All infected tissue... Read more.
