Hi PJ, I do hope this note finds you healthy and happy. I wanted to check up on you because you haven't posted in forever! I had surgery myself at CC on August 16, and you were July 28 so we were only two weeks apart. I have had my share of problems having to do with the robotic, but I am starting g to see a light at the end of the tunnel. How are you faring? The robotic surgery recovery was a lot more difficult than I anticipated! Please update, I miss reading your posts! XO Lise

Howdy PJ .... I am Rose another Texas heart woman I can only hope and pray that your recovery is going great. It is a hard road that we are on at this moment but although I really don't know you there is one thing that I do know about you is that your strong because sister we are from Texas and that's a different cut of cloth that we are made of. I only wish that I had found this site a long time ago sometimes a heart patient needs someone in the same boat as them to talk to. Praying for you sister.

Know you are getting out because of the pictures from your son's football game! Happy you are adjusting. Life is so much better when at home and reinventing a new life or for you with your kids and Jay!
Just got back from 2nd cardiologist in San Antonio. Was doing great first week then AFib started. Pacemaker is good. Blood pressure all over the place and heart rate up and down. Both doctors decided today I need to go back on blood pressure medicine Lisinopril, increased the other BP med, and also added Coumadin with weekly checkups! Today one of the cardiologist asked if I was still on narcotics! I had to laugh and told him only the first day in ICU and got so ill they took me off and put me on Tylenol- Still pain on sternum but just walking through it. He said well that is amazing- no narcotics?

Mary Wagner PJ -I only had aneurysm surgery (didn't need new valve)but my heart beat and blood pressure did the same as yours right now. I also have a pacemaker. The meds did not fix the arrhythmia so I had a cardio version and it went back in sync. The EP doc wanted to do an ablation to get me off the meds but my cardiologist felt I needed a break and I agree. Hang in there - I read this is pretty normal....

I am ready to get my surgery over with on Thursday, seeing PJ just gave me the emotional strength to know everything is going to be fine. PJ!! Heart Sister! I pray for peace for your surgery tomorrow and that everything goes perfectly for you. Dr. Gillinov and surgical team is outstanding. I know you will do wonderfully in his hands! I'm sorry we didn't get to see each other again before I was discharged today. We had some bumps in the road and then everything happened so fast. They moved my post op appointment to next Wednesday. Please let me know as soon as possible where you are so I can come see you! Your visit to me was such a blessing when I needed it the most. 💗 Prayers and hugs to you🙏🏻

Hi PJ, this week will go by quicker than you realize. I don't know how I got an earlier date than you. Maybe they thought I was sicker. Anyway, I think you'll like the Cleveland Clinic and Dr. Gillinov. Some of the hospital was a little dated, but they provided me great care. I was impressed at how efficiently they operated. They were set up with a receptionist at each station, which was much more patient friendly. When it looked like I would be waiting, things moved quickly. I didn't have time to read books! The only complaint I had was the hospital food after my surgery. It had no salt and was tasteless! The only things I could eat was Salsbury steak and Mac and cheese. Not normally something I would eat, but I think somebody slipped up and put some salt on it! Anyway, maybe the food helped me loose the 13 or so pounds that I lost. Keep in touch with how you are doing. Don't worry, because they will take good care of you. I'll be praying for you.
