Hi Lorraine, my Name is also Lorraine, in Oct of 2009, I had my mitral Value replaced with a mechanical value, because mine could not be repaired. I had it done at Cleveland Clinic. I just had my 6yr evaluation at Cleveland Clinic and everything is great!! So have faith in God and your Dr's and I know everything will work out perfectly!! God Bless You and your family.

Prayers for you Lorraine for your upcoming surgery on August 17th. I am one day post discharge and things are going well. The biggest issue I had was the overwhelming anxiety and worry about the operation. Cleveland Clinic did an amazing job and it was a great experience for me. I will continue to pray for you and success at surgery and a speedy and minimal pain recovery.

Petey Bello I just had my mitral valve repaired at Stanford by Dr. Joseph Woo April 20th. It was a difficult repair which is why I went to him. The surgeon, his team & hospital were awesome! If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me. Good luck with your decision! If you do have a difficult repair, you want to go to a surgeon who is known & capable for performing them!
