I just saw your update. I literally just got back on here this morning after a couple years. I had my aortic valve replaced for the 5th time last Monday at Cedars Sinai in LA. Complex heart issues can feel overwhelming, especially when you have to go through surgery again to fix it. I have 100% been there. I feel your pain. Keep your mind as strong as possible. Your fitness level and healthy diet will help your body so much in your recovery. Your mental strength will carry you on the hardest days. I'm so sorry you're going through this again. It can twist your mind all over the place. Find strength in the fact that you know how to recover. I'm very into fitness as well ( have been my entire life )....talk to your doctor (if you haven't already) about what your workouts consist of now. I'm not sure of your age but heavy lifting (if you do that) is off the table with these valves. I do half the weight and twice the reps. I'm wishing you a speedy recovery and an absolute feeling of peace and calm through it all. Cathleen

Christopher Gardner Thank you Cathleen, I appreciate the encouragement. You are spot on about the mental challenges. I know it is important to stay positive and strong mentally but there are hours and days where that is very challenging. I have been meditating again (a process I picked up before my last surgery) and I'm hoping to find some peace through that process. Again, thanks for the post :)
