My surgery was on December 7th. I can say I am a mitral valve surgery survivor! CMC-Pineveville has an awesome team. I was able to leave a day earlier, instead of staying for a full week -- GOD IS GOOD! They say you'll feel as if you were hit by... Read more.

Wonderful news that you're home! Welcome to recovery! Sense of smell was the one thing that really hit me. I could smell everything really clearly which was a positive (I had my own bedding due to allergy so smelt of home) and negative (the lingering smell of the hospital dinner... Read more.
Great News that you're home early. I had my surgery on Dec 4 and I'm just starting to get my appetite back.
Welcome home. I think most people do so much better once they get home.
Congrats!! I'm glad that you're home again! Best wishes for a full recovery! Take care. Liz
Thank you all, does anyone know what's a good bra to use?

It can be overwhelming when you enter the hospital. It can be overwhelming when you have to let someone you love go. But as soon as we entered that hospital at 5:00 am my mom was brave. My grandma was brave, and i pretended to be brave. She left us... Read more.
Beautifully written! It has to make you feel somewhat better knowing she was handling it so gracefully. I am glad to hear all is going smoothly!

Best wishes tomorrow!
Good luck tomorrow, Pamela! I look forward to reading about your fast recovery. Jeff
So they didn't pick it up at Birth? My Cardiologist was surprised mine wasn't either. Probably couple of weeks to wear a bra, depending on whether it's a special heart bra. Wishing you all the very best, I'll keep you in my thoughts. Emily.
Enjoy the cake. Chocolate cake was one of the things I enjoyed at the hospital. I woke up from surgery in a bra and wore one 24/7 for a while. My surgeon didn't want things to pull on the incision if not supported. I did have a full sternotomy.
Cake sounds a good medicine! Best wishes for your surgery, may it be uneventful and your recovery smooth. I've been wearing non-wire, cotton front fastening bras 24/7 since surgery (MV repair, full open) as instructed by my hospital. It's doubling as giving me the feeling of extra support of holding... Good luck today Pamela! Sending prayers. I was given a post surgery bra 3 days post op (I am 3 weeks today) My incision is 5.5 inches, I found a soft front close bra at walmart that works best for me. I still have a bothersome spot beneath my breast... Read more.
I love you sweetie. Broken hearts do heal.
Best wishes and prayers to you. The hospital should have some surgical bras, and I found that they made it easier go breathe. Afterwards. When you vet home, have someone go go Walmart and get some larger than normal sports bras that fasten in the front. Just fasten the bottom... Read more.
