Kenneth Southard I had a 2-hour drive from the San Francisco Bay Area to Sacramento, we only stopped once. The nurse recommended that you stop every hour. However, what I found is how little steam you have, as we stopped at a convivence store, and I had to walk across the parking lot. I was not in pain or out of breath, but the speed that I was able to walk was extremely slow. I guess I was not aware of this while I was in the hospital. I would take this into account and choose the places where you stop carefully.

Klara Čičić Dear Mary I had long drive after my surgery 3 weeks ago. It was on 8th postoperative day, we drove for 6 hours, then sleeping in a hotel for one night, and next day we drove for 5 hours. Writing it down now sounds crazy, I can't believe I survived it haha. But it was better then expected. Anyway, you can read my journal for tips :) good luck

Deena Z I drove from Mt Sinai in NYC to Virginia. Easy do and I had my sternum cut. The drive took about 6 hours, because Mt Sinai told us that you need to stop every hour or so to walk a bit. As Cheryl said, pillows help a lot. I also had an ice cream stop which was a favorite memory!
Mary Barber Thank you for all the great suggestions. I love the pillow fort and ice cream sounds perfect!

Civita Fahey Anna, I like the governor we have now. unfortunately he isnt running for another term.. Gov Baker has been voted the most popular Gov in the US. He's truly a nice man. He is a republican in a democratic state.. I dont like the Democratic runner this time and the republican one is an unknown.. so we will see.
Ana Brusso Hope we all get some good government leaders so they can help our country get in a better place.
