Matt has been fighting nausea since yesterday afternoon. He say he's hot (no fever) and feels just awful. God, I hope this passes soon!

So sorry to hear that. Nausea seems to be a common complaint after surgery. Hopefully it will end soon and/or he can get some meds that will help alleviate it. He's been through a lot.

My body took a while to re-learn how to regulate body temperature. The improved circulation wreaks a bit of havoc with the internal thermostat!

Hope they can give him something to alleviate his nausea Matt, praying you'll feel better soon!

First two days I poured sweat, couldn't get cool enough. Didn't have any nausea but it is pretty common, usually due to the medicines. Hope he is better soon.

Hey Eddie. Are you sure it isn't menopause? Hahaha. Kidding. I had a hysterectomy in December. Then my ohs in March. April was when my hot flashes starting making their appearance.

I know what Matt feels like. That nausea is terrible. I didn't suffer with it while I was hospitalized but once home, it came on forcefully. I even got dry heaves. I called my surgeon and he ordered Zofran and it really helped alleviate the problem. I also would get... Read more.

Chest tubes and CVL came out this morning. Matt is napping now, getting ready for his big afternoon of getting up to sit in the chair! His fever has subsided, but the white blood count is still elevated so he'll keep getting the antibiotics. Thanks to all of you who... Read more.

Hopefully Matt is more comfortable now that the chest tubes are out. I will keep prayers and good thoughts regarding the white blood cell count. Now he can work on his breathing exercises :-). Hope you all can take a deep breath and get some rest!

Wishing Matt the best! It's awesome when those chest tubes come out, a milestone to say the least!

That's great news. Will keep healing thoughts for Matt and strength for you.

Eddie, he might have totally revolted if they hadn't just finally relented and given him a drink! Let's hope there's no nausea from it!

I demanded ginger ale. My nurse gave in and got some for me. It went down......and came right back. Haven't had any since that day.
