"I am a survivor: fighting heart disease, one day at a time "
It's time to Celebrate: Today, I received my echocardiogram test results the test took place on this past Tuesday the mechanical valve ( 13 years old) in my heart is functioning properly. I give God all the honor, glory and praise. Dear family and friends.

I appreciate all of your support and prayers.

I thank God for giving me a second chance to create more special memories with my beautiful family and amazing friends

My open heart surgery ( heart valve replacement) took place on February 12th, 2009. I thank God for giving me a second chance at life. Despite the health setbacks that have taken place over the past 13 years, I remain committed to raising awareness, sharing my heart testimony and honoring every family affected by heart disease and stroke. My love language and strength is serving others, it gives me tremendous joy and purpose to help people specially in hospice care and people in grief. I’m a retired nurse and a Grief Share facilitator for a long time. Since I’m asymptomatic, I plan to continue serving in this capacity until February 1st, that’s 10 days before my surgery to isolate myself. Like you said,,, find reasons to put a smile on your day.

February 12th, 2009: open heart surgery took place. February 16th, 2009: I received a pacemaker due to permanent, irreversible heart blockage. June 23rd, 2010: right lead in my pacemaker replaced December 21st, 2015: I received new batteries in my pacemaker. Numerous setbacks have taken place including the most recent one which took place on Wednesday, June 9th .2021. Coping with heart disease on a daily basis and staying positive through low moments: wow: what a challenge: the struggle is real. How do I keep moving forward, despite the health setbacks which have occurred over the past twelve years? I cry out in pain to God and he answers my prayers. I remain committed to sharing with everyone, what God is doing my life, including the unexpected blessings that continue to take place and supporting the fight against heart disease and stroke. Dear family and friends, I appreciate your love and support. Have a happy and blessed day. Sharing words of encouragement to anyone facing health obstacles on a daily basis.. Kimberly Eisenhut Wow, I needed this today. Have not had surgery yet, but the waiting and wondering for my tricuspd regurgitation and when it will happen and my symptoms seeming to be getting worse makes me anxious and sad every day. As well as basically losing most of my family because they are not safe during covid and I cannot be around them. Anyone who can help me be just a little less down and stressed is greatly appreciated!
Bless everyone and I am fighting every day for my teenage son and my granddaughter, so I may be here for a long time for them. I am my granddaughters only grandprent, so its important for her and my youngest son. Also a single mom past 10 years. Finally got away from a narcissistic husband. I am blessed to be able to work from home with my Etsy shop, so thats a plus, but it does keep me isolated a lot.

Steven Methot Kimberly, I used to be (way in pre-history when the dinosaurs roamed the earth) involved with a semi-monastic RC religious order. At the outset of this pandemonium when I was told by medical professionals to "stay the bleep home" until a vaccine is found I found the transition to self-isolation to be bumpy. Oh, the living simply is fine, it's just the element of choice that went missing there somewhere. But there was a saint of the church named Benedict who 1500 years ago came up with a rule for communal living in cloister (or isolation) from the world. He called for a balanced life of work, prayer or contemplation and recreation. It is a recipe similar to yours above. Balance, simplicity, and try to keep from worrying!

A couple of years ago , I received a new heart valve plus a pace maker. I was born with an abnormal heart valve and developed symptoms at age 42. I notified my doctor, a test was ordered then I received a mechanical valve. Four days later I developed heart blockage . The doctor informed my family that I would need a pace maker to help my heart function. A year later, my third surgery took place : pace maker revision. My fourth surgery took place on December 21st, 2015; I received new batteries in my pace maker. Two setbacks with my pacemaker occurred during the following months : January and July : ( 2020). I received minor adjustments and new medication. I thank God for answering my prayer : giving me the strength to continue to the fight against heart disease and stroke.
