Angus Butler Welcome Julie! You came to the right place thanks to Adam Pick who designed this website to provide the best information from the best Cardiac Surgeons and hospitals from all over the world. This helps us gather information, knowledge and our medical options which in turn reassures patients, helps with the anxiety and fears of the unknown. I’m sure every patient that has joined up here, including myself, was feeling some level of anxiousness but trust me educating yourself about your condition and the very safe options out there, that anxiousness will subside. Ask any questions you have here and someone with a similar condition as yours would be happy to help! Watch for the great webinars Adam puts on that are very informative as well! All the best in your journey, Angus

Robert Miller I am not familiar with aortic stenosis and I am not sure what your friend meant with "reassure me". But if your friend meant that this is fixable and you need confirmation it is fixable, then you are at the right place. While I don't know about aortic stenosis, I have read enough posts here where this issue was fixed. Recovery will be hard for the first couple of weeks and it might require some long-term changes but you should feel a lot better after you are through this. The important thing is that you take care of it sooner than later. If you delay it, your body/heart will suffer.

Rose Madura Welcome Julie. I had aortic stenosis among other things and had surgery about 8-1/2 years ago. I feel great now. It's amazing what treatments/surgeries are available in 2026. Do you need surgery yet? As Robert mentioned, you don't want to wait until you have symptoms. There is lots of information on this site. Let us know if you have any questions. Godspeed.
Richard Munson The word severe should be your first clue.

Sue Maize Hi Julie, glad you found this community—you’ll feel tremendously supported here! Like many, I too had aortic stenosis and had my valve replaced by a bovine valve in June of 2024–have had zero issues with it and am not restricted in any way. That said, we understand anxiety here despite all the assurances from the medical folks—it’s totally normal. But arming yourself with information is key and will help alleviate a lot of it. If you know your stenosis is severe, like Richard suggested, then you should have a surgeon and surgery date lined up asap. Wishing you the best! ❤️🩹🙏🏻
